Introduction to MEMS+
This course introduces you to MEMS+ using a MEMS RF switch design as an example. You will learn how to construct models of MEMS designs in CoventorMP MEMS+. Time will be devoted to running parametric analyses to optimize performance and do design trade-off studies. It includes the following:
- how the interface works
- file interactivity and management
- using variables
- design entry
- how to simulate a device in MEMS+ Simulator, MATLAB scripting, MATLAB Simulink, and Cadence Virtuoso
- component physics, which includes mechanical, electrostatic, and fluidic models
This course is designed to take about 6 hours, which you can complete at your own pace. It has six sessions, plus homework (2 hours exercising the software).
To start the course, please click on the first lesson listed below (CoventorMP: the MEMS+ Design Platform). Then continue by selecting the topics and quizzes in the MEMS+ Discovery lesson.
You can monitor your progress within the course and take quizzes to ensure you have understood key concepts. Ideally, these sessions are completed over 2 weeks. You will also have the opportunity to submit questions in the Comments section of each topic and to schedule a question and answer session with a Coventor application engineer.
CoventorMP 2.1 users can complete the course by using the masks and layers from the Process Editor module.
